When Is Duct Replacement Necessary?

We’ve written before about how to tell if your ductwork is leaking, and how professional duct sealing can benefit you in such a scenario. What you may not realize, though, is that there are certain situations in which duct sealing is just not going to cut it. If you want to enjoy a better heating and cooling experience while also protecting your indoor air quality, it may actually be necessary to replace your air ducts.

If this is the case, be sure to give a member of our team a call. We can handle the replacement of your ductwork in Newberry, SC. Let us assess the situation, and we’ll help you to decide if duct replacement is the right move in your home.

Extensive Corrosion, Damage, Poor Design

One of the most common reasons to replace ductwork is if it has been compromised by corrosion. This issue can develop for a few different reasons. Perhaps there was a leak in an area of your house that you were unaware of. Perhaps you have very excessively humid air that you’ve not dealt with. Whatever the case, a certain amount of corrosion is going to mean that you air ducts are just not worth salvaging, if they’re even salvageable at all.

While duct sealing can really work wonders for returning leaking air ducts to their former glory, it can’t fix everything. If your air ducts are very damaged, in multiple areas, there is a good chance that a full or partial replacement is in order. If we’re replacing a significant amount of ductwork, revamping the whole system is likely the way to go. Your air ducts may have been damaged during a construction project, or even due to infestations. Whatever the case, we’ll replace them properly.

Finally, there is the design of your ductwork system to consider. You won’t have to worry about poor design when you work with us, of course, but not every company does impeccable work. If you’re having trouble evenly and efficiently heating and cooling your home, it could be due to poor duct design, or the use of improperly sized ducts. In either event, we’re here to help.
